The yard, before leave removal and subsequent re-leafing. Markers on my coffee table. Outside trees. Space heater (next to the chair).
Outside my window… A newly leafless yard quickly becoming a newly leafy yard.
I am thinking… That I may be the only person in this house who’d like to be potty training right now.
I am thankful for… My space heater.
From the kitchen… Simmering beans, smoothies, and (hopefully) vegan brownies.
I am creating... Garlands. One of the alphabet for a little someone and one of dried orange slices.
I am planning... Meals, meals, and more meals.
I am reading… Ape House by Sara Gruen
I am hoping... For motivation, accompanied by a sleeping little one.
I am hearing… Markers squeaking across my coffee table. And this.
Around the house… Trees. Inside and out.
Today is Thanksgiving! You knew that, I’m sure. But you don’t mind that I occasionally state the obvious, which is one of the things I can be thankful for today. That, and the following bazillion things:
under cabinet lighting | potable tap water | football season | soft yarn | Pandora on my phone | new sheets | grand (maybe impossible) plans | big windows | vegan pumpkin pie | toy trains | fuzzy kitty ears | late-November sunshine | patient friends | our shower | the Internet | cardinals (the bird, Tom) | wine | space heaters | digital cameras | sore muscles | bling | headscarves | soup | the gas range | optimism | Kindle for Android | trees and rivers | life lists | warm fires | smiles

I imagine "fireplace and wood to burn in it" is probably high on his list of thanks.
What are you thankful for today?

His personal favorite, the bike helmet.
